  • The United Nations The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON), on behalf of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), invites qualified interested firms to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to participate in the upcoming solicitation for the development of Estuary-level Ecosystem Restoration Plans in Mozambique. The requirement entails providing technical advisory services to develop ecosystem restoration plans at the estuary level and come up with the best set of Ecosystem-based Adaptation interventions such as green and green-grey approaches - needed to mitigate flood, storm, and cyclone impacts on communities. Those plans are required in the context of the design phase of the Green Climate Fund (GCF) project: "Building resilience of coastal communities through Ecosystem-based Adaptation approaches in Mozambique" which will cover three estuaries with the following catchment areas: 19,043 km2 for Bon Sinais, 1,380,691 km2 for Zambezi and 345,897 km2 for Limpopo.The objective is to ascertain how reforestation and other green-grey infiltration measures could help reduce rainfall-based flooding and coastal flooding, determine what return period events the project can hel...
