Closing Date: 28 Sep 2023 Type: Consultancy Themes: Agriculture/Food and Nutrition Summary of the Service: The procurement has the aim to provide the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) in Maputo and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADER) of Mozambique with all the information needed for a sound evaluation of the opportunity of building an Agri-Food and Logistic Center in the Province of Manica, economically and environmentally sustainable in line with international standards and perfectly integrated into the territory. The estimated total value, excluding VAT, is 290 000.00 EUR; Place of performance: MZ Mozambique; The operational base for the project will be Maputo, Mozambique, with field activities for data collection in Manica, Sofala and Tete Provinces. Description of the procurement: The procurement involves providing consultancy services for developing a feasibility study and conceptual design of an Agribusiness Centre (CAAM) in Chimoio, Manica province, Mozambique. The study will include an in-depth analysis of the value chains of fruits and horticultural products, an economic and financial analysis of the proposed centre, and the dimensioning and architectural sketches of the CAAM. The contractor must have extensive experience conducting feasibility studies, particularly in the agribusiness and agro-industry sector, and possess expertise in value chain analysis, stakeholder analysis and economic and financial analysis. The contractor must be able to produce three different, interconnected reports related to the activities as described in the Scope of Work, namely the value chain report, the business report, and the architectural report. The contractor must be able to present and discuss the reports with the Italian Agency for Cooperation and Development (AICS) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Mozambique (MADER), and other relevant stakeholders. The final report must incorporate any comments from the stakeholders during the presentation of the final draft report. The consultancy firm will have a total of 6 months to complete the study and conceptual design.
